Editorial policy
Answer sourcing and verification
Each day's Wordle answer is verified against the official puzzle published by The New York Times at midnight US Eastern time. Our pipeline checks the answer, puzzle number, and date as a set before publication, and a human editor spot-checks the daily page after it goes live. Historical answers in our archive have been cross-checked against multiple independent records of past puzzles.
Spoiler policy
The daily answer never appears in page titles, meta descriptions, social preview images, or visible above-the-fold content. Hints are layered from gentle to explicit, and each layer requires a deliberate tap. We apply the same discipline to push-free channels: no spoilers in anything a search engine or link preview could surface.
Data and statistics
Letter frequencies, starting-word rankings, and difficulty figures on this site are computed directly from our answer dataset at build time — not scraped or paraphrased from other publications. Difficulty scores reflect community average-guess data where available; puzzles too new to rate are labeled as such rather than given invented numbers.
Independence
Free Wordle Today is an independent fan project. We have no relationship with The New York Times Company, and no advertiser or sponsor influences what we publish. This site carries no display advertising.
Corrections
If we publish an error — a wrong answer, a broken date, a miscomputed statistic — we fix it promptly and note the change on the affected page when material. Report anything you spot through ourcontact page; corrections are reviewed by an editor within one business day.
